Thanks for your support, guys, but I didn't reach the finals. :3 I think the others with more technical skill deserved it anyway. I whipped this up pretty quick and I think it got what it deserved.
But srsly, why so many favs? D:
This was my entry for Google's contest, "Doodle 4 Google"
My art teacher asked me if I was interested, so I gave it a shot. The theme is "What if?", so I chose, "What if Google didn't exist?". I was having trouble painting the hand, so I took a picture of my own and manipulated it in. It looks better this way...
I honestly hope I at least get in the finals. I don't know if I will, but it'd be really nice. ><
I'm kind of hoping for that grand prize scholarship, even, so I have a good start for going to college. As it looks now I don't have much funds.
Just a new laptop would be nice too though. XD
Anyway, I figured I'd submit something. Sorry for the lack of art recently, guys. I just can't bring myself to finish anything.
And thank you very much! I appreciate it! c:
The reason your comment intrigued me was because I read an article not too long ago that predicted the big internet giants (google, facebook) would be gone--or at least a ghost of their former selves--within the next 5 years. Not because they're bad companies, but because of the breakneck pace that technology evolves. Companies just can't keep up with the changing market and stay consistently innovative. The article argued that they would end up like AOL, Yahoo, etc., and I found it really interesting.
I think if anything, though, FB is already on the decline and Google will probably stick around for quite some years. Google is at least trying to stay at the top of the market and develop new products
Not to sound like a conspiracy theorist or anything, but I have heard of Big Brother/ or employers looking at peoples facebook and jazz to see about the person. Thy wouldn't want to get rid of those sources. Ha...
I think that things could also change with the economy.
*not that google and other internet sources revolve around the United States, but if our economy drops a hecka lot, there will be less people using internet because of money loss. That, just the US, would lose a lot of users and money income for the internet. I don't know if that would actually have an effect, but its hard to keep free things up when you aren't making any money anywhere else... Do I make any sense?
One day (lol, maybe) everything will be GOOGLE
I think Facebook users are starting to not like it as much anymore, just because of the abuse. I know a few people who are getting rid of their facebooks, to the best they can. So, if people start dropping off Facebook, then it will most likely go down.
And yeah, the economy will always affect things. They're still based in the US, so it'll have a direct impact.
I'm not at the point where I hate FB yet, but yeah, I've seen it exploited for many things, and it kinda sucks. Should be interesting to see what the next big social media site will be.
not goooooggggleeeeeee ; 333 ; <3i love this so much
